An on-demand service platform with self-scheduling capacity: Uniform versus multiplier-based pricing

چکیده
On-demand service platforms use multiplier-based pricing to provide services via self-scheduling participants. In a scheme, consumers pay lower prices during non-peak periods and higher equal the period price multiplied by surge multiplier peak periods. However, reasons underlying when it should be used remain unclear. this paper, we examine effects of two schemes—uniform pricing—on platform profits, participant payoff, consumer surplus formulating game-based models, investigate conditions feasible region for pricing. The results show that in scheme is than uniform price, which line with reality. When number potential participants larger, model generates more profits if compensation ratios models are or ratio lower. Participants better off joining uses given one following conditions: commission models. Consumers proportion periods, sensitivity change, higher.

The Role of Surge Pricing on a Service Platform with Self-Scheduling Capacity
Recent platforms, like Uber and Lyft, offer service to consumers via “self-scheduling” providers who decide for themselves how often to work. These platforms may charge consumers prices and pay providers wages that both adjust based on prevailing demand conditions. For example, Uber uses a “surge pricing” policy, which pays providers a fixed commission of its dynamic price. We find that the opt...

Since computing required number of hardware and software resources which continuously changed or upgraded thus requiring customers and users to consistently pump in investments to upgrade their infrastructures. This required researchers to arrive at a solution where users and customers would have access to latest versions of hardware and software without requiring new investments. This led to t...
متن کاملSelf-scheduling of EV aggregators in Energy market based on Time-of-Use Pricing
This paper presents a new solution for the self-planning task of private EV aggregators to realize higher profits in distribution networks. Since the model is proposed from the EV aggregator's viewpoint, the corresponding effects of the aggregator's profit-seeking approach on the grid such as the power losses and voltage levels might be unknown or even negative. To address this issue, a commerc...
متن کاملAn Extensible Router Platform Enabling On Demand Service Creation
Commercially available routers typically have a monolithic operating system that cannot be easily tailored and upgraded to support new network protocols. This paper describes PromethOS, a modular router architecture based on Linux 2.4, which can be dynamically extended by plugin modules that are installed in the networking kernel. To install and configure plugins remotely we present a novel sig...
متن کاملOperations in the on-demand economy: Staffing services with self-scheduling capacity
Motivated by recent innovations in service delivery such as ride-sharing services and work-from-home call centers, we study capacity management when workers self-schedule. The service provider seeks to maximize its profit (revenue from served customers minus capacity costs) when it controls capacity only indirectly. Agents choose when to work based on the compensation offered and their individu...
